More About the New Additions

The twins are finally home and we're starting our routine of getting to know each other. Before we left, Cadence had a chance to come to the hospital and meet her sisters for the first time. She's doing really good at being a big sister and though there are a few moments of regretting that she's not the only child any more, she's been a real trooper.

Life is pretty tame at this point. A bunch of getting used to the new routines with two babies that are barely the size of a loaf of bread. Nanna and Poppa are here to help out and that has really been a sanity saver. Hopefully we'll have our routines in shape before they leave!

By the way, we're also having major house work done at the end of the month. How that works is still in question, but it might likely involve Jason staying in Huntsville while Lilah and the twins go to Dallas. Where Cadence ends up in still in flux - but what we know for sure is that we cannot live in our house as they will be ripping up all of 2000 sq ft of hard wood floors and replacing them, which includes removing all of our kitchen cabinets, too. Fun times!

Anyway, that's all I've got for now. We keep more frequent updates on our Facebook accounts, but for those who don't catch us there, we'll post periodically here as well.

Introducing the Twins

I am pleased to introduce you to Serenity Belle Troxel (left) -18.5", 5lb 12oz; and, Patience Katarina Troxel - 19", 6lb 2oz. Both girls were born at 12:42pm on 6/29/2010. We don't know if they are identical yet and it would take a DNA test to determine. (Point of interest - the Olsen Twins weren't identical twins, they were fraternal twins who looked a lot alike. )

What a cute serene butt!

First look - only seconds old.

Meet your momma! She's so proud of you!

Happy happy Grand parents!

Not a whole lot of sleep yet, but we're managing with the help of family, the hospital staff, and through sheer joy of having two new gifts to enjoy. We'll post more, you can be sure.

Thank you,

I'd like to blame it all on Facebook...

Yeah, I know I don't blog often anymore. To be honest, I'm frequently on Facebook, and because of that I haven't put anything here in awhile. The plus side is the convenience of updating the facebook account. But much like Twitter, Facebook has a certain limitation on the creative.

In short, I'm out of practice, but I'll give it my best go. Here are some photos from a recent Employee Involvement event a couple weekends ago, and a video of Cadence with her friend taken just tonight. It's not much, but it's a start.

More Cool Stuff Aboard SBX

It's been the longest period I have been away from Lilah and Cadence since we came to Huntsville and I can certainly see I'm out of pratice with travelling. I really really look forward to seeing the two of them and getting back home. I know that there are plenty of others around me in my immediate setting who do this for two months at a time and my petty complaints of a mere two weeks seem unjustified, but let's be honest: I miss my girls and I'm not too proud to admit it.

This week we did a second fire and abandoned boat drill, this time loading up the emergency rescue vessels and putting on our handy "Neck Stretchers" life preservers. It was fun and I'm glad that we didn't have to do it for real.

Four more wake ups. I have a slew of other pictures, but given that I'm actually posting anything at all these days is in itself somewhat amazing, so I think I'll pace myself. If I get ambitious I will post some more of the outstanding photos from this trip.

Take care all.

It's Gumby!

Out on the SBX Vessel we did our Fire and Abandon Ship Drills today, and as luck would have it, we got to don our Immersion Suits! Really, how cool is that!?! So, without further ado, here's Gumby!
